This gravel route is not for the faint of heart or the skinny of tire. As long as you’re ready to work, you’ll enjoy every minute of this loop that snakes through the Northumberland Hills north of Brighton. You’ll barely notice the ups and downs along Carman Road, until you’re suddenly flying down the final downhill from Nichols Road back into Wooler.
